Carols and carols: what do they sing about at Christmas? Russian folk carols for Christmas are short, for children. Texts of poems and songs with notes of Christmas carols, video Short carols for children 3 years old

Holiday carols are Russian folk ritual songs that were traditionally sung at Christmas and during the Yuletide period during the traditional house-to-house tour (caroling). In the old days, children and adults sang them, moving from one farmstead to another. In beautiful and touching short texts, carolers praised the miraculous birth of the baby Christ and wished the owners well-being, family happiness, worldly joys and an excellent harvest in the coming year. For well-performed carols, the performers were always warmly thanked and encouraged with various gifts and refreshments. Sweets, lollipops, buns, kulebyaki, gingerbread cookies, fruits and even small coins were thrown into the ritual red bag, decorated with gold stars. Children's short carols were the greatest success. The adults listened to them with special awe and pleasure, and then generously and richly rewarded the little artists with all sorts of goodies.

Russian folk carols - short, funny songs for Christmas

In order to maintain traditions and collect a bag full of delicious gifts for Christmas, you will have to carefully prepare for the holiday and memorize short, funny and funny texts of Russian folk carols. The brighter and more original you can perform these lively songs, the more sweets, gingerbread cookies, fruits and coins grateful listeners will give to the carolers. But before you start the performance, do not forget to ask the owners of the house for permission to perform in front of them with short poems of praise and cheerful, daring carols. Of course, no one will refuse this, but, according to the ancient ritual, the question must be asked.

If older schoolchildren, students or young people aged 22-30 go caroling, it makes sense to select suitable carols in advance and rehearse them several times so that all participants remember the words of the text and the sequence of verses. Only a clear, well-coordinated and beautiful number will give rise to the desire of the owners to generously give the carolers gifts and goodies, and a company of adults who forget the text of the carols and are embarrassed by their actions will look ridiculous and will give rise to the idea of quickly slamming the door, so as not to spoil their joyful and pleasant mood .

Caroling, caroling
From family to family we wander
We will tell you poems,
Give us some pies

Well, it would be better if there were coins
We'll buy the candy ourselves
And also a handful of nuts,
And let's take a thimble of wine!

Koleda - moleda,
White beard
The nose is flat,
The head is like a basket,
Hands like sabers,
Legs - rakes,
Come New Year's Eve
Celebrate honest people!

You, master, don’t be tormented,
Give it quickly!
What about the current frost?
Doesn't tell me to stand for long
Orders to serve soon:
Either pies come out of the oven,
Or a penny of money,
Or a pot of cabbage soup!
God bless you
A yard full of bellies!
And to the stables of horses,
Into the calf barn,
To the guys' hut
And take care of the kittens!

Children's Russian folk carols for Christmas and Christmastide

You can learn children's Russian folk carols with boys and girls of preschool and primary school age. In this way, the children will get acquainted with ancient traditions in an unobtrusive playful way and become familiar with the elements of ancient Slavic culture. And sweets, candies, cookies and gingerbread, placed in a Christmas bag by delighted owners, will become a pleasant incentive to memorize as many texts of children's carols as possible.

For the youngest performers, short children's carols of one or two verses are suitable. 3-5 year old children simply will not remember a larger volume of text, and it makes no sense to force them. It’s better to help them master several short children’s carols, which the children can easily learn and sing beautifully in front of their neighbors, relatives and friends. After all, none of the parents simply dares to let their offspring go far from home in the dark.

For children 6-8 years old, it makes sense to choose longer children's carols with 2-4 verses for singing. Boys and girls of this age will remember this amount of text without any difficulty and at the right moment will delight their parents, close friends and relatives with a vivid performance. Carols can be included in the program of matinees, which on the eve of Christmas are held in kindergartens, institutes, colleges and schools. Colorful numbers will pleasantly enliven the performance and create an additional festive atmosphere in children's educational institutions.

Good evening to good people!
May the holiday be merry.
Merry Christmas to you.
We wish you happiness and joy!
Generous evening, good evening!
Good health to good people!

A carol came
Christmas Eve
Who will give me some pie?
So the barn is full of cattle,
Ovin with oats,
A stallion with a tail!
Whoever doesn't give pie will get a chicken leg,
Pestle and shovel
The cow is hunchbacked.

Kolyada, Kolyada,
We open all the houses,
All the windows, chests,
We give sweets and pies,
So that it would be good for you,
Say thank you to heaven
God will give us all health,
After all, he is good at this!

Text and notes of Russian folk carols for kindergarten and school

You can learn children's Russian carols not only at home, but also at school and in kindergarten. To memorize texts quickly and easily, it is better to rehearse them to music. The musical notation of such works is more than simple and any adult with at least some knowledge of musical literacy can master it. It will be much easier for kids to perceive the words and rhythm of children's carols, supported by a simple, playful melody.

If you plan to perform carols during a children's matinee, you can play the accompanying melody on the piano, which is available in the assembly halls of almost all schools and kindergartens. When such a musical instrument is not available to the child care facility, an accordion, balalaika, guitar and even a violin will do.

Older children will certainly enjoy singing carols at school, accompanying the text with playing percussion instruments. This will give the room a modern style and bright originality. In this way, it will be possible to combine in one performance elements of folklore and fashionable features of musical trends accepted among youth. The most creative schoolchildren will enjoy reading children's carols in the manner of popular rapper texts or accompanying the numbers with spectacular dance compositions and costume performances.

Those who plan to go caroling around their houses and apartments, of course, will not want to carry some kind of musical instrument with them, and, among other things, it will be very inconvenient. Therefore, there are only two possible options: sing the short text of the carol without music, or take with you a small audio player with a small portable speaker and play a suitable melody on it. By the way, portable mini-acoustics can even be connected to a mobile phone, onto which music has already been downloaded from the Internet, suitable as an accompaniment to short, cheerful carols.

Where to listen to Russian folk carols at Christmas

There are several answers to the question of where to listen to Russian folk short Christmas carols. The first is to wait for the cheerful mummers to ring the doorbell of the apartment and ask permission to sing carols, praise the owners and wish them all the best. However, when you live on the top floor of an apartment building, the chances of you getting your turn are greatly reduced. If the elevator at the entrance does not yet work, the hope of hearing carols performed live is practically reduced to zero, if only because both children and young people simply do not want to climb to high floors on foot.

Mothers and fathers of kindergarteners and schoolchildren can attend themed events and matinees held in children's institutions at Christmas, and listen to short children's carols performed by their own offspring and their friends in the class or group.

In addition, an even simpler way is available to absolutely everyone - download short carols from the Internet and play them on Christmas Day at home on your computer, smartphone or tablet. Of course, this cannot be compared with a live human performance, but it will still lift your spirits and certainly create a festive atmosphere.

Carols - lyrics in Russian

Russian folk carols are short, cheerful and playful ritual songs. They are performed at Christmas and during the holy week by companies of mummered adults or small groups of children. The short texts of the carols contain lines glorifying the birth of the infant Christ and warm, good wishes to the hospitable owners of the house, who allowed the carolers to sing their short ritual couplets. For a bright, colorful and soulful performance, listeners generously reward the performers of short carols with sweets, candies, pastries, small souvenirs and small coins. Gifts are never given into the hands of carolers, but are placed in a large bag specially prepared for this. When it is filled to capacity, the mummers divide the “booty” among themselves and go home to continue celebrating the wonderful holiday with their families.

We sow, we weave, we tell,
Merry Christmas!
You glorify Christ,
Give us some treats!

Good evening to you,
Affectionate owner,
Rejoice, rejoice, earth,
The Son of God was born into the world.

The carol has arrived
On the eve of Christmas,
Give me the cow
Oil head.
And God forbid that
Who is in this house?
The rye is thick for him,
Rye is tough.
He's like an ear of octopus,
From the grain he has a carpet,
Half-grain pie.
The Lord would grant you
And living and being,
And wealth.
And create for you, Lord,
Even better than that!

Do you like caroling?

Kolyada, Kolyada!
And sometimes there is a carol
On Christmas Eve
Kolyada has arrived
Christmas brought.

The owner and the hostess
Get off the stove
Light the candles!
Open the chests
Get your heels out!
For your amusement,
We're screwed!

Kolyada, merry carol!
Get everyone here!
We will shower you with happiness,
For that you will treat us!

Kolyada, Kolyada!
Give us some pie
Or a loaf of bread,
Or half a buck,
Or a chicken with a crest,
Cockerel with a comb!

Bom-bom-bom
We are hitting your gates!
We have come to give you happiness,
Let's carol here!
Come to us quickly
Bring treats!
We are waiting for cookies, we are waiting for sweets,
We wish you happiness for a hundred years!

We'll call you by phone
With wishes and bow.
We came to carol
Merry Christmas to you!

Who will give us some pie?
Some fresh cottage cheese
He will have happiness
And the bad weather will dissipate!
We're going caroling
Let's wish you well!

Kolyada, Kolyada
Open the gates
Get out the chests
Serve the snouts.
Even a ruble
Even a nickel
Let's not leave home like that!
Give us some candy
Or maybe a coin
Don't regret anything
It's Christmas Eve!

We are ditties for carols
Let's sing cheerfully,
Treat us sweeter,
Otherwise we’ll be offended and leave!

Kolyada, Kolyada!
Open the gate!
Give me some pie
A piece of bread
A pot of sour cream!
Won't you serve any pies?
We let in bedbugs,
Mustached cockroaches
And striped animals!

Kolyada, Kolyada,
Come from far away
Once a year
Let's admire it for an hour.
We're crackling with the frost,
With a prickly cold,
With white snows,
With a blizzard, with blizzards.
Scooters - sleighs
We drove ourselves -
From village to village,
Kolyada is fun.

Who lives in this house
God give him joy!
Whole bins of happiness,
Let them enjoy winter!
We want just a little,
Pies only for the road!

The Holy Spirit descended from heaven
And said Christ was born
We came to glorify Christ
Congratulations on your holiday

Well, good hostess,
Hurry up and give us some candy!
We bring happiness and joy to the house,
We're still waiting for the pies!
There will be day and there will be food,
Kolyada will not forget you!

Open the gates
A carol is coming to the house!
Kolyada is coming into the house
Brings happiness with you!
We are waiting for sweets from you,
Hello pies!
There will be peace in that house
Who are we singing songs to?

Carol

Kolya-kolya-kolyada -
For troubles – “No!”, but for happiness – “Yes!”
Happy New Year, Merry Christmas:
We wish you peace in your home,
And health and goodness,
And heartfelt warmth!
Kolya-kolya-kolyada -
For troubles - “No!”, but for happiness “Yes!!!”

Good evening to good people!
May the holiday be merry.
Merry Christmas to you.
We wish you happiness and joy!
Generous evening, good evening!
Good health to good people!

Good auntie,
Give me some sweet cakes.
Kolyada-molyada,
On the eve of Christmas,
Give it, don't break it,
Give everything whole.
If you drop a little one,
You can’t even pray to God.
Won't you serve me some flatbread?
Let's break the windows.
Won't you serve me the pie?
Let's lead the cow by the horns.

Carols go on holy evenings,
The carol comes to Pavly-Selo.
Get ready, villagers,
Let's have carols!
Open the chest
Get out the piglet!
Open up, peddlers,
Get your pennies!
Come, don't be shy,
Now we'll amuse the people.
Who will be the devil and who will be the devil!
And who doesn't want anyone
Let him laugh for a nickel!

Kolyada, Kolyada,
We open all the houses,
All the windows, chests,
We give sweets and pies,
So that it would be good for you,
Say thank you to heaven
God will give us all health,
After all, he is good at this!

Kolyada, Kolyada,
It's Christmas Eve!
Good auntie,
The pie is delicious
Don't cut, don't break,
Serve it quickly
Two, three,
We've been standing for a long time
Let us not stand!
The stove is heating up
I want some pie!

Ding-ding-ding, the bells are ringing,
Sons and daughters have come to you,
You meet carolers,
Greet us with a smile!

Kolyada arrived on the eve of Christmas.
God bless whoever is in this house.
We wish good things to all people:
Gold, silver,
Lush pies,
Soft pancakes
Good health,
Cow butter.

A star is shining in the sky,
At the hour of Holy Christmas...
Kolyada came,
I went around all the houses,
I knocked on doors and windows,
She walked and laughed and played...
And behind the noisy Kolyada,
Carolers in a crowd...
Everyone rejoices and laughs,
They sing a loud song:
“Kolyada was born,
On the eve of Christmas..."

We ask for your health,
And we carry candles for happiness!
Let it be in your yard.
There will be a mountain of gold!
Well, you will treat us,
Don't drive away the carol!
Otherwise a year will pass
It won't bring anything!

Kolyada, Kolyada,
Who won't give me the pie?
We take the cow by the horns
Who won't give donuts,
We hit him in the face,
Who won't give a penny?
He's got his neck on the side.

Christmas carols are an indispensable attribute of the holiday. We began to return to our roots. Increasingly, in Orthodox families, the holiday of the Nativity of Christ rightfully began to take its traditional place. Our ancestors strictly observed the rules of celebrating the Nativity of Christ.

The housewives beautifully set the tables and prepared the best treats; they did not forget about the poor, sick, and needy people: they visited orphanages, shelters, hospitals, and prisons. In ancient times, even kings, dressed as commoners, went to prisons and gave alms to prisoners.

On Christmas Eve they began to decorate the Christmas trees; probably not everyone knows that the spruce is a symbol of eternal life and unfading.
After the solemn Christmas service, all Orthodox Christians began to congratulate each other on the holiday. In the afternoon we sat down at the table.

A special tradition of Christmastide in Rus' was caroling, or glorification. In villages and hamlets one could meet miners on the streets. Young people and children dressed up, walked around the courtyards with a large homemade star, singing church chants - the troparion and kontakion of the holiday, as well as spiritual carols dedicated to the Nativity of Christ.

This tradition is called Christmas carols. The caroling ended with general fun, sliding down the slides, and a general feast.

In the evening, the fun spilled out into the streets and continued for another twelve days - until the feast of the Epiphany. These twelve days are popularly called Christmastide. Holy days consecrated by the Nativity of Christ.

Carol (from the Latin “calends” - the name of the first day of the month among the ancient Romans) is a ritual song with wishes for wealth, good health, and a good harvest. Christmas carols were sung, mainly on the night before Christmas. The owners brought treats to the carolers, and they wished them every kind of well-being.

History of caroling in Russia

Initially it was associated with pagan Gods. Previously, people went to caroling on the day of the winter solstice. Among the Slavs, this particular day was the Nativity of the Deity - the Sun.

Carolers walked through the streets, sang ritual songs and announced to everyone about the birth of the Sun. Later, with the penetration of Christianity, caroling was dedicated to the Nativity of Christ. Thus, biblical motifs appeared in carols, and people began to glorify the birth of Christ.

* * *
The night is silent, the night is holy,
People are sleeping, the distance is clear;
Only in the cave is the candle burning;
The holy couple does not sleep there,
In the manger the Child slumbers, in the manger the Child slumbers.

The night is silent, the night is holy,
The heights lit up
A bright angel flies from heaven,
He brings news to the shepherds:
“Christ was born to you, Christ was born to you!”

The night is silent, the night is holy,
A star is burning in the sky;
The shepherds have been on their way for a long time,
They are in a hurry to come to Bethlehem:
There they will see Christ, there they will see Christ.

The night is silent, the night is holy,
All hearts await happiness.
God, let everyone come to Christ,
Find bright joy in Him.
Eternally glorify Christ, eternally glorify Christ!

* * *
In the land of Judea stands Bethlehem,
The star above the nativity scene shines low.
The skies are shining, the angels are singing,

The shepherdesses were guarding the flock in the field,
The Blessed Virgin was found in a cave.
And they came to the cave to give food to the herd.
And they look into the manger - there is the Mother of God.

The little baby is wrapped in swaddling clothes
The Blessed Virgin lies in her arms, -
She pressed him to her chest and fed him
And tenderly caresses his Son.

O Lord God our Creator,
Bless us all every hour.
The skies are shining, the angels are singing,
Glory is given to the Eternal God.

* * *
Nativity of Christ - An angel has arrived.
He flew across the sky and sang songs to people:
- All people rejoice, on this day rejoice -
Today is Christmas!

I am flying from God, I brought you joy,
That Christ was born in a poor den.
Hurry up and meet the Baby
Newborn.

The shepherds from the East came before everyone else,
The baby was found in a manger on straw.
They stood, wept, and glorified Christ
And His Holy Mother.

And the wise men, seeing a bright star,
They came to worship God and the King.
They bowed to God, they gave gifts to the Tsar:
Gold, myrrh and Lebanon.

And the rebellious Herod learned about Christ,
He sent warriors to kill all the babies.
Babies were killed, swords were dulled,
And Christ was in Egypt.

We have sinned a lot, O Savior before You.
We are all sinful people, You alone are Holy.
Forgive our sins, give us forgiveness.
Today is Christmas!
Kolyada, Kolyada!
And sometimes there is a carol
On Christmas Eve
Kolyada has arrived
Christmas brought.

Get ready, villagers,
Let's have carols!
Open the chest
Get out the piglet!
Open up, peddlers,
Get your pennies!
Come, don't be shy,
Now we'll amuse the people.
And who doesn't want anyone
Let him laugh for a nickel!

A carol came
Christmas Eve
Who will give me some pie?
So the barn is full of cattle,
Ovin with oats,
A stallion with a tail!
Who won't give me the pie?
That's why a chicken leg
Pestle and shovel
The cow is hunchbacked.

The night is silent, the night is holy,
There is light and beauty in the sky.
The Son of God is wrapped in swaddling clothes,
Lies in the Bethlehem den.
Sleep, Holy Child,
Sleep, Holy Child.

The night is silent, the night is holy,
And light and clean.
The joyful choir of angels praises,
Revealing the space far away
Above the sleeping earth.
Above the sleeping earth.

The night is silent, the night is holy,
We sing of Christ.
And with a smile the Baby looks,
His look speaks of love
And shines with beauty.
And shines with beauty.

Today an Angel has descended upon us
And he sang: “Christ is born!”
We came to glorify Christ,
And congratulate you on the holiday.

Here we go, shepherds,
All our sins are forgiven.
We make our way to home,
We glorify Christ God.

This night is holy, this night is salvation
Announced to the whole world
The Mystery of the Incarnation.

That night the shepherds did not sleep near the herd.
A bright angel flew to them
From the heavenly bright distance.

Great fear seized those children of the desert,
But he said to them: oh, don’t be afraid, -
There is joy in the whole world now.

Where Christ was born to save people,
You go and have a look
To great humility.

And suddenly a song was heard from the heights of heaven:
Glory, glory to God in the highest,
There is good will on earth

Here is a spruce in the forest, so green
And how beautiful she is
But how more beautiful she is,
When the house is full of candles,
She shines clearly.

On one of the joyful nights
The Lord Jesus was born.
He is the One who redeemed people
After all, without Him in your darkness
This world is lost.

For all who believe in Christ,
And at night the light shines.
And this night is holy for us,
May everyone's joy be pure,
Jesus is here.

Let Him, child, into your home:
He lives in the heart,
He wants to build a garden in it,
Will enrich him with fruit,
Who lets Him into the house?

Children's carols for Christmas evening: lyrics

You will give us -
we will praise
and you won’t give -
we will reproach!
Kolyada, Kolyada!
Serve the pie!

Little guy
Sat down on a sheaf
plays the pipe,
Kolyada is amusing.
Avsen, avsen,
Tomorrow is a new day!
Don't stand at the gate
Tomorrow is New Year!

To your new summer,
Have a great summer!
Where does the horse's tail go?
It's full of bushes there.
Where does the goat go with its horn?
There's a stack of hay there.

How many aspens,
So many pigs for you;
How many Christmas trees
So many cows;
How many candles
So many sheep.
Good luck to you,
master and hostess
Great health,
Happy New Year
With all the family!
Kolyada, Kolyada!

Shchedrik-Petryk,
Give me the dumpling!
a spoonful of porridge,
Top sausages.
This is not enough
Give me a piece of bacon.
Take it out quickly
Don't freeze the children!

The sparrow flies
Twirls his tail,
And you people know
Cover the tables
Receive guests
Happy Christmas!

Today is a party
fortune telling,
skating!
Pancakes, pies, tea party,
And pranks and dates.
Winter is hurrying us up - hurry up!
Hurry up to see
hear,
participate!
Get dressed and leave your houses,
Carol, dance, joke!

There is some good fun:
Who will get the rooster?
On a high pole
Conquer the heights!
Who's in the bag nonstop
He will be able to gallop deftly,
Who can break the pot -
He won't regret anything!
We are waiting for the well done guys on stage -
Amateur singers,
Balagurov and dancers,
Harmonists and readers!

The carol has arrived
On the eve of Christmas.
Give me a cow, an oil head,
And God forbid whoever is in this house
The rye is thick for him, the rye of a supper:
He'll get an octopus,
From the grain he has a carpet,
Half-grain pie.
The Lord would grant you
And life, and being, and wealth
And reward you, Lord,
Even better than that!

Carols go on holy evenings,

We came to glorify Christ,
And congratulate you on the holiday.

May you live well
Everything you want is given,
So that thoughts inspire,
And dreams always came true.

Mister, gentlemen,
The master's wife
Open the doors
And give us a gift!
Pie, roll
Or anything else!

On the eve of Christmas,
Give us goodness in our hand,
And in return, get
Wealth, happiness and warmth,
The Lord will send it to you,
So be generous
Don't be offended by us for anything!

Christ the Savior
Born at midnight.
In a poor den
He settled.
Here above the nativity scene
The star is shining.
Christ the Master,
On your birthday
Give it to all the people
World of enlightenment!

10. There is silence in Bethlehem

1. There is silence in Bethlehem,
The meadows sleep and the herds sleep.
The night is brighter than ever -
There's a bright star in the sky
Lights up everything around:
Rivers, mountains, forest and meadow.

Chorus:
Peace and joy, peace and joy,
Peace and joy to all now.
Peace and joy in every heart,
Bethlehem is in every heart.

2. “For a star to burn like that,
We haven't seen it anywhere."
The shepherds spoke
Relaxing by the river.
Suddenly their fire went out -
The angel spread his wings.
Chorus

3. “Oh, fear not, shepherds,
God came down to forgive sins.
He was born in a den today" -
And the Angel said the Name.
And everything around began to sing
Sky, mountains, forest and meadow.
Chorus

4. The shepherds entered the den,
They found God in the manger.
The Virgin Mother sat nearby,
She looked at Her Child.
And everything around was shining:
Sky, mountains, forest and meadow.
Chorus

Christmas carols for children

Kolyada, Kolyada!
And sometimes there is a carol
On Christmas Eve
Kolyada has arrived
Christmas brought.

The owner and the hostess
Get off the stove
Light the candles!
Open the chests
Get your heels out!
For your amusement,
We're screwed!

Kolyada, merry carol!
Get everyone here!
We will shower you with happiness,
For that you will treat us!

Kolyada, Kolyada!
Give us some pie
Or a loaf of bread,
Or half a buck,
Or a chicken with a crest,
Cockerel with a comb!

Bom-bom-bom
We are hitting your gates!
We have come to give you happiness,
Let's carol here!
Come to us quickly
Bring treats!
We are waiting for cookies, we are waiting for sweets,
We wish you happiness for a hundred years!

We'll call you by phone
With wishes and bow.
We came to carol

Who will give us some pie?
Some fresh cottage cheese
He will have happiness
And the bad weather will dissipate!
We're going caroling
Let's wish you well!

Kolyada, Kolyada
Open the gates
Get out the chests
Serve the snouts.
Even a ruble
Even a nickel
Let's not leave home like that!
Give us some candy
Or maybe a coin
Don't regret anything
It's Christmas Eve!

We are ditties for carols
Let's sing cheerfully,
Treat us sweeter,
Otherwise we’ll be offended and leave!

Kolyada, Kolyada!
Open the gate!
Give me some pie
A piece of bread
A pot of sour cream!
Won't you serve any pies?
We let in bedbugs,
Mustached cockroaches
And striped animals!

Kolyada, Kolyada,
Come from far away
Once a year
Let's admire it for an hour.
We're crackling with the frost,
With a prickly cold,
With white snows,
With a blizzard, with blizzards.
Scooters - sleighs
We drove ourselves -
From village to village,
Kolyada is fun.

Who lives in this house
God give him joy!
Whole bins of happiness,
Let them enjoy winter!
We want just a little,
Pies only for the road!

The Holy Spirit descended from heaven
And said Christ was born
We came to glorify Christ
Congratulations on your holiday

Well, good hostess,
Hurry up and give us some candy!
We bring happiness and joy to the house,
We're still waiting for the pies!
There will be day and there will be food,
Kolyada will not forget you!

Open the gates
A carol is coming to the house!
Kolyada is coming into the house
Brings happiness with you!
We are waiting for sweets from you,
Hello pies!
There will be peace in that house
Who are we singing songs to?

Carol

Kolya-kolya-kolyada -
For troubles – “No!”, but for happiness – “Yes!”
Happy New Year, Merry Christmas:
We wish you peace in your home,
And health and goodness,
And heartfelt warmth!
Kolya-kolya-kolyada -
For troubles - “No!”, but for happiness “Yes.” ”
(N. Samonii)

A carol came
Christmas Eve
Who will give me some pie?
So the barn is full of cattle,
Ovin with oats,
A stallion with a tail!
Who won't give me the pie?
That's why a chicken leg
Pestle and shovel
The cow is hunchbacked.

Good evening to good people!
May the holiday be merry.
Merry Christmas to you.
We wish you happiness and joy!
Generous evening, good evening!
Good health to good people!

Good auntie,
Give me some sweet cakes.
Kolyada-molyada,
On the eve of Christmas,
Give it, don't break it,
Give everything whole.
If you drop a little one,
You can’t even pray to God.
Won't you serve me some flatbread?
Let's break the windows.
Won't you serve me the pie?
Let's lead the cow by the horns.

Carols go on holy evenings,
The carol comes to Pavly-Selo.
Get ready, villagers,
Let's have carols!
Open the chest
Get out the piglet!
Open up, peddlers,
Get your pennies!
Come, don't be shy,
Now we'll amuse the people.
Who will be the devil and who will be the devil!
And who doesn't want anyone
Let him laugh for a nickel!

Kolyada, Kolyada,
We open all the houses,
All the windows, chests,
We give sweets and pies,
So that it would be good for you,
Say thank you to heaven
God will give us all health,
After all, he is good at this!

Kolyada, Kolyada,
It's Christmas Eve!
Good auntie,
The pie is delicious
Don't cut, don't break,
Serve it quickly
Two, three,
We've been standing for a long time
Let us not stand!
The stove is heating up
I want some pie!

Ding-ding-ding, the bells are ringing,
Sons and daughters have come to you,
You meet carolers,
Greet us with a smile!

Kolyada arrived on the eve of Christmas.
God bless whoever is in this house.
We wish good things to all people:
Gold, silver,
Lush pies,
Soft pancakes
Good health,
Cow butter.

A star is shining in the sky,
At the hour of Holy Christmas...
Kolyada came,
I went around all the houses,
I knocked on doors and windows,
She walked and laughed and played...
And behind the noisy Kolyada,
Carolers in a crowd...
Everyone rejoices and laughs,
They sing a loud song:
“Kolyada was born,
On the eve of Christmas..."

We ask for your health,
And we carry candles for happiness!
Let it be in your yard.
There will be a mountain of gold!
Well, you will treat us,
Don't drive away the carol!
Otherwise a year will pass
It won't bring anything!

Kolyada, Kolyada,
Who won't give me the pie?
We take the cow by the horns
Who won't give donuts,
We hit him in the face,
Who won't give a penny?
He's got his neck on the side.

Carols for children at Christmas

Christmas Carols are songs of greatness, a kind of Christmas hymns. Their main goal is the wish of health, wealth, as well as the praise of the Infant Christ and his Most Pure Mother, the Virgin Mary.

Currently, this wonderful, good tradition is fading into oblivion. In Russian villages you can still find noisy young people cheerfully singing greetings to the owners of the house, but in the cities, this entertainment is mainly for children who go from house to house, collecting sweets for wishes for well-being in the coming year.

But we are sure that interest in Carols will be revived, so we have prepared the best Christmas Carols for both the youngest children, children of primary and secondary school age, and for teenagers and young adults.

God will forgive all of us sinners,
He will reward you with faith in miracles!
You will meet us soon
We will continue our story.

Long and happy years,
May God protect you
Sending you Angels for a hundred years!

We walk through the villages.
They caroled a lot,
We're not tired yet
We continue to work
Just so as not to catch a cold,
Moms weren't worried
We were only admired

It contains both butter and honey.

So that business flourishes,
You'll be lucky!

And let's go caroling
Collect treats.

For an outfit and a scarf.

So that you always have everything,
May Grace come to you!

Your every day will be bright,
Let life be golden!

You will always be praised
Here are some bright words for you:
To bring joy to everyone around
Suddenly brought happiness!

About carols and traditions of their performance

Carols date back to pagan times. There are several versions of their appearance. There is an assumption that in ancient times, even before Christianity, carols were directly related to the cult of the Sun. In those days, people's lives directly depended on the amount of harvest. In fact, carols were originally an appeal to the pagan gods, to the forces of nature. Their main content is the wish for a rich harvest and prosperity in the new year.

After the adoption of Christianity, ordinary people gradually transferred the ritual of caroling to Christmas. The songs themselves have changed. Now, instead of turning to pagan deities and nature, biblical images were glorified. As a rule, the rhythm of the songs was simple, which made them easy to remember. They started caroling from Christmas night until Epiphany. Both adults and children came out to sing songs.

The carolers walked around the village, chose a house and, stopping under the windows, began praising the owners. They acted out entire performances: they put on costumes, masks, and memorized poems and songs in advance. And if something was forgotten, then they added their own to the general laughter. The owners did not skimp on treats, which, to the general noise, were put into large bags prepared in advance. It was customary to generously give gifts to guests. The carolers ate everything together at the end of the day. They believed that the more carolers who looked into the house, the more prosperous life there would be in the new year.

The goat was considered one of the symbols of the holiday. People believed that she could ward off evil spirits from the house and promote well-being. Usually they chose the most active and cheerful guy, who was dressed in a goat costume. And he was already dancing dashingly in front of the owners of the home and other carolers. It was believed that the more interesting and fun this holiday was, the more fertile and fortunate the next year would be.

Short carols for children at Christmas

Christmas is one of the most revered holidays in the church calendar. According to legend, on the night of...

Singing carols is not only a tribute to tradition, but also a favorite pastime for children. Kids have the opportunity not only to glorify Christmas, but also to receive gifts for it!

It all happens as follows: on the evening of January 6, after the first star appears in the sky, marking the birth of Christ, the whole family sits down at the table and eats Lenten dishes. Then adults and children go caroling - they gather in small groups and visit relatives and friends, wishing them well-being and chanting Jesus Christ. Not allowing carolers into the house is a bad omen. The owners are waiting for them, having prepared treats and hard cash.

According to traditions, there must be at least three carolers - a star, a bell ringer and a bell bearer. The star goes first, sings loudly and carries the star, the bell rings the bell loudly to notify everyone about the arrival of the carolers, and the fur bearer carries a bag into which the owners of the houses throw gifts - cookies, sweets and money. We offer you a selection of the most popular and melodious carols that will bring the spirit of Christmas to every home.

Texts of carols in Russian

Tyapu-lyapu, quickly give me a carol!
My legs are chilly - I’ll run home.
Whoever gives is the prince,
Whoever doesn’t give in will go to hell!

Hey, beautiful hawthorns!
Hey, naughty girls!
Open the doors wider,
Let the guests come in!

Your neighbors are close to you:
Not high, not low,
Not wide, not narrow,
All boyars are purely Russian!

We did not come to you with a hindrance,
And with fun and amusement!

A carol was born
It's Christmas Eve!
Behind the mountain behind the steep,
Beyond the fast river,

The forests are dense,
The fires are burning in those forests!
The fires are burning blazing,
People stand around the lights

People stand and sing carols:
‘Oh carol, carol,
You happen, carol,
It's Christmas Eve!'

Hello, treats
Please accept congratulations!
You will live together for up to two hundred years!
I wish you happiness and good health!
Merry Christmas!

May the Lord grant you
And we live and be,
And wealth in everything,
And may God grant you, gentlemen,
Good health for many years to come!

Carols, carols, carols -
Pancakes are good with honey!
And without honey - it’s not the same,
Give me some pies, auntie!

Good auntie,
Give me some sweet Easter cakes!
Kolyada-molyada,
It's Christmas Eve!

Give it, don't break it,
Give everything whole.
If you drop a little one,
You can’t even pray to God.

Won't you serve me some flatbread?
Let's break the windows.
Won't you serve me the pie?
Let's take the cow by the horns!

Merry Christmas
We came here with goodness
Give us some,
Pie for the path,
So that happiness comes to you,
May you be lucky in everything!

Merry Christmas to you, people,
May you have peace and harmony!
So that you don't know grief,
May you remain in abundance!

So that your home is cheerful,
Beauty bloomed all around
So that you give good things,
They thanked you the same way.

And God forbid that
Who's in this house?
The rye is thick for him,
Dinner rye!
He has an octopus,
From grain - a carpet for him,
Half-grain pie.
The Lord would grant you
And living and being,
And wealth!

Happy great holiday,
Affectionate owner,
Rejoice, rejoice, earth,
The Son of God is born

We are coming to you, master,
With good news.
Rejoice, rejoice, earth,
The Son of God is born!

With good news
From the holy city.
Rejoice, rejoice, earth,
The Son of God is born!

You, master, don’t be tormented,
Give it quickly!

What about the current frost?
Doesn't tell me to stand for long
Orders to serve soon:
Pies from the oven,
Or a penny of money,
Or a pot of cabbage soup!

God bless you
A yard full of bellies,
And to the stables of horses,
Into the calf barn,
Into the guys' hut,
And take care of the kittens!

We'll call you by phone
With wishes and bow.
We came to carol
Merry Christmas to you!

May you live well
Everything you want is given,
So that thoughts inspire,
And dreams always come true!

Texts of carols in Ukrainian

I sing a carol for you,
I celebrate the holiday of all of you!

Your house is warm, warm...
Then grab your broom!
Joy has already come to your house,
I brought a good sound!

Be healthy,
Earn new pennies.
I for those that I drank,
Give me a penny for the bacon!

In the blue sky
Zronka has become
All over Ukraine
She sounded the whistle.

What's in Bethlehem,
In the secret of the low one,
The child was born -
Jesus is small.

Jesus was born
Handles are folded,
All those who are embarrassed
It flies happily.

So stop it
Already sumuvati,
Ukrainian boys,
Beautiful girls.

Girls and boys,
Let's all bow down,
In good hope
We pray to God!

Good evening to you, sir!
Bring us a couple of cowbass,
Oh, go around the stove,
Look for some gossip for us.

Vinesi sala, don’t be stingy,
So that your barley is born,
Just press one hundred kip of life,
So that the whole sieve is all over!

There were so many cattle,
So the wheat was born,
The house needs everything -
The carolers were treated to a treat!

carol-carol,
Months are coming in a row.
Dressed in leather jackets,
Like a shepherdess in a den.

Kolyada-kolyadnitsa,
It's a joy for children,
Generous for a hotel
At Llaniya Torbintsi!

Oh, God forbid we wait for Christmas,
Let's go to caroling before grandpa!
And our grandfather has plenty of bread:
Two stitches of life, and the third of wheat
On the palette,
And a quarter of buckwheat for buckwheat,
And the fifth day is the same carol.
Good evening!

Little Jesus doesn’t sleep, doesn’t sleep,
With her hands she embraces the ears -
And our hut, and our homeland,
I all of Ukraine.
Christ is giving birth!

Oh, carol-carol!
I walked through the master's field,
I took a bag of grains,
Nivi sowed:

Like, God, it’s lively
For many years to come,
Happy homeland
And all of Ukraine!

Kolyad, Kolyad, Kolyad,
It's a shame to bypass you.
Let me come to your doorstep
Come joy to the New River.

May they bloom in kindness,
May we live happily,
I want this river to be young
You'll be spoiled for old!

Friends are rich in winter;
On a daily basis and on a holy day
Your tables were bent.
May everyone be healthy!

Kolyadin-din,
Grandma, I am alone!
Bring me a pie
Put it near the bag.
With arms, with legs,
Let's run after us!

Oh I'll play the pipe
I'm falling asleep to carols!
For the master and mistress,
There should be a lot of welding in the house,
And the wealth is small,
Share kvitla, otherwise the garden!

The plan has gone wrong,
Like the river of life flowed,
The cornfield was thick with ears
And happily settled in the house!

I'll play the pipe for you,
Having sung a carol to you,
And now I stand, I sit -
I'm checking for a hotel!

I fly with the Holy Day,
I wish everyone good health:
Lord at liberty,
Gentlemen, on your way,
For the boys and girls to party,
Little fun for the children...
Praise to Christ God!

Begla heifer and s bereznichka
That's until the grandfather is in the door.
And you, grandfather, give me a pie!
And you, baby, look at the police.
Give me a stick.
Palyanichka fell,
Give me a piece of lard.
